Sawtooth Botanical Garden

The Sawtooth Botanical Garden is a delightful destination for people who appreciate natural beauty and plants. It spans across 5 acres and showcases a diverse collection of plants from the five biomes found in south-central Idaho. You’ll find both native species and cultivated plants here. As you wander through the garden, you’ll come across captivating art installations and educational exhibits nestled among the greenery. However, the real gem of this garden is the interactive Tibetan prayer wheel located at the heart of the Garden of Infinite Passion. This prayer wheel, brought all the way from India, is handcrafted and can be freely spun by visitors. It holds around one million prayers, each meticulously printed on separate pieces of paper. By spinning the wheel, visitors can engage with Tibetan meditation and religious traditions while exploring this serene sanctuary.

The Sawtooth Botanical offers free entry (though donations are gladly accepted) and is open to the public throughout the year from dawn until dusk. The visitor center’s hours vary depending on the season. Previous visitors have shared positive feedback about the garden, often describing it as perfect for a leisurely and calming walk. To reach the garden from downtown Ketchum, simply drive approximately 4 miles south on Highway 75.
