When to Visit

Ketchum and Sun Valley have two peak seasons for visitors: December to February and June to September. Winter months are perfect for skiing, especially in December when an average of 32 inches of snowfall occurs. During the summer, the towns attract biking and hiking enthusiasts. From June to September, you can join various concerts and festivals while enjoying pleasant temperatures above 70 degrees during the day. The renowned Trailing of the Sheep Festival takes place in October, which is also a great time to experience vibrant fall foliage and enjoy outdoor activities in a mild climate. In the shoulder months, like March and April, you can still find good snow conditions without the high prices.
