Crocker Art Museum

Sacramento’s very own Crocker Art Museum is a treasure trove of over 15,000 beautiful pieces of art. This cultural gem showcases an impressive array of artwork from various parts of the world, giving visitors a glimpse into different artistic traditions and styles. The museum is particularly proud of its Californian collection, which features artworks that stretch back to the time of the museum’s founding by the esteemed Crocker family. Additionally, the museum houses expansive collections of ceramics from around the world, as well as captivating displays of African, Oceanic, and Asian art. It’s truly a remarkable place to explore and appreciate the rich diversity of artistic expression.

In 1885, the Crocker family founded the museum to serve as both a residence and an art gallery. Over the years, the museum has continuously evolved, with its most recent addition being the Teel Family Pavilion. This new pavilion spans an impressive 125,000 square feet, providing ample space for exhibitions and galleries.
