Firehole Canyon Drive is a unique attraction in Yellowstone National Park. It offers visitors a chance to enjoy a waterfall and a designated swimming hole that provides a safe and pleasant swimming experience during the summer months. This drive is conveniently located near Madison Junction on the park’s west side, with access from Grand Loop Road. The scenic drive covers a distance of 2 miles and follows the meandering path of the Firehole River. One notable feature of this area is the picturesque gorge adorned with majestic trees, making it an ideal spot for capturing beautiful photographs.

Don’t miss the impressive Firehole Falls, a magnificent 40-foot-tall waterfall flowing through lava rock. It’s just a quick stroll away from the parking area. If you visit during mid-summer, you can enjoy the Firehole Swimming Area when the water is at its calmest and warmest. This lovely spot features a small rocky beach where you can enter the water.
