Woodland Park Zoo

Established in 1899, Woodland Park Zoo is spread across 92 acres and provides a habitat for over 900 animals and 250 species, some of which are at risk of extinction. The zoo offers various exhibits to explore. One such exhibit is the African Savanna, where you can observe magnificent creatures such as lions, giraffes, hippos, and zebras. Another exhibit, called Humboldt Penguins, showcases penguins from coastal Peru. In the Tropical Asia exhibit, you can encounter orangutans, tigers, sloth bears, and a diverse array of birds. Additionally, there is the seasonal Molbak’s Butterfly Garden. As part of its commitment to bring new experiences, the zoo features temporary exhibits like “Dinosaur Discovery,” which presents over 20 life-size dinosaur replicas, including an impressive 40-foot-long T. Rex. Woodland Park Zoo is also proud to house several gorillas, including adorable newborns.

The zoo impressed most recent visitors with its spaciousness and wide variety of animals. However, a few reviewers expressed disappointment when they found out that certain animals were not visible in specific weather conditions.
