Mora and Rialto Beach

Situated approximately 40 miles southwest of Lake Crescent and around 70 miles from Port Angeles, Rialto Beach presents awe-inspiring coastal views. This remarkable destination provides an excellent opportunity to observe a variety of marine wildlife, including sea lions, seals, otters, whales, seabirds, and eagles. Visitors often describe the beach as “intense,” as it showcases the sheer force and magnificence of nature.

The Mora area is a wonderful place to visit if you want to experience the beauty of nature. It has a seasonal campground where you can stay and explore the various trails. One of the trails is the James Pond Trail, which is a short loop that takes about 0.3 miles to complete. Another trail is the Slough Trail, which is a forested path that leads to the Quillayute River. It is about 0.9 miles long in each direction. If you prefer a beach view, you can take a quick stroll along the 200-foot-long path to Rialto Beach, where you can enjoy an amazing view of the ocean. During the summer season, there is also a temporary accessible ramp available. If you’re up for more adventure, you can continue your journey along the North Coast trail for about 1.5 miles, and you’ll come across a fascinating sea-carved arch called Hole-in-the-Wall and some tide pools. Just remember to check the tide tables before you start your hike to ensure your safety.
