Hoh Rain Forest

The Hoh Rain Forest is a beautiful place with lots of rain. It gets between 140 to 170 inches of rainfall every year. This makes it really green and full of life. The trees and everything else are covered in mosses and ferns. The National Park Service says that the Hoh Rain Forest is one of the best examples of a temperate rainforest in the United States. A lot of people love visiting this place because of its beauty. One person said that walking in the forest feels like being in a fairy tale, like “Hansel and Gretel”. Another person said it’s like an enchanted forest.

When embarking on a journey at the Hoh Rain Forest, it is recommended to start your adventure at the Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center. This center has friendly rangers who are eager to assist you with valuable advice and recommendations on what to explore during your visit. Inside the visitor center, you can find engaging exhibits and even a bookstore to enhance your knowledge about the area. For those seeking a shorter stroll, there are two delightful nature trails near the center: the Hall of Mosses Trail, spanning 0.8 miles, and the Spruce Nature Trail, stretching for 1.2 miles. However, if you’re up for a more challenging expedition, there’s a 17-mile trail known as the Hoh River Trail that leads you to Glacier Meadows, situated on the shoulder of Mount Olympus.
