A place like no other near Zion National Park in Utah
The Canyon Overlook Trail in Zion National Park is a popular and moderately long trail spanning about a mile. It provides breathtaking views of Zion Canyon, including the impressive Towers of the Virgin and a stunning slot canyon below. Despite its relatively short distance, this trail attracts a large number of visitors due to its amazing vistas. While hiking up the trail, which involves a gradual climb of approximately 160 feet, be sure to keep an eye out for Zion’s iconic big horn sheep, as they are often seen along the Canyon Overlook Trail.
To make the most of your hike and avoid large crowds, it’s advisable to begin early in the morning or later in the day, according to recommendations from recent travelers. Although the trail itself is not very long, it can still pose a challenge due to the presence of steps, narrow rocky parts, and unfenced drop-offs.
