Wolfe Ranch

A place like no other near Arches National Park in Utah

Wolfe Ranch

John Wesley Wolfe arrived in this area in 1898 and decided to settle on a plot of land spanning 100 acres. Together with his son, they managed over 1,000 cattle and struggled to make a living. Initially, they resided in a basic cabin for close to ten years. However, in 1906, when Wolfe’s daughter, her husband, and their two children joined them, she insisted on having a more comfortable dwelling. Thus, they constructed a new cabin that still stands today, complete with actual windows and wooden floors.

Step back in time and immerse yourself in the captivating ambiance of the late 1800s. As you peer through the windows, let your imagination transport you to a bygone era. An intriguing sight awaits near Wolfe Ranch - a petroglyph panel etched into the rock, thought to have been created by the Ute people. These ancient drawings depict vivid images of people riding on horseback, adding to the allure of the place. While the well-preserved cabins and the mesmerizing petroglyphs leave a lasting impression on many visitors, it’s worth noting that this destination is best enjoyed as part of your journey to the iconic Delicate Arch.
