A beloved artist in the Latin pop genre, Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, often referred to as Selena, gained fame and was affectionately known as the “Queen of Tejano music.” Throughout her successful career, Selena created four albums, showcasing her talent and passion. Remarkably, she even won a prestigious Grammy Award for Best Mexican American album. Not only was she a brilliant singer, but Selena also showcased her creativity by personally designing all of her captivating costumes. Tragically, her promising journey came to a devastating end in 1995 when she was fatally shot by the former president of her fan club in Corpus Christi.
Selena’s legacy lives on in Corpus Christi through the museum dedicated to her. Located next to the Q-Productions studio, which is owned by her family, the museum showcases various elements from Selena’s life. Visitors can admire portraits of Selena, explore artifacts from her childhood, and marvel at her iconic costumes. Additionally, the museum proudly exhibits her prized platinum and gold albums.
