A place like no other near Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee
According to travelers, Chimney Tops offers breathtaking views from its bare rock summit. The trail is a short but steep and challenging 4-mile round trip hike, involving scrambling over rocks. Due to its difficulty, it’s not recommended for inexperienced hikers or young children. Nevertheless, it remains a highly popular trail within the park.
Recently, hikers shared their experiences of visiting the pinnacles. Unfortunately, the climbing part is currently unavailable as it was affected by a fire in 2016. However, there is still good news! You can enjoy breathtaking views from the viewing platform, which is accessible on the lower portion of the trail. It’s definitely worth the effort to reach there. While you’re exploring, take some time to relax at the picturesque picnic area near the stream, situated below the chimneys. But be aware, this region is known to be inhabited by bears, so exercise caution while enjoying your adventure.
