Rodin Museum

With nearly 150 bronzes, marbles, and plasters, the Rodin Museum is a treasure trove of Auguste Rodin’s artistic creations. It houses one of the largest public collections of his works outside of Paris. The museum showcases pieces from all stages of the renowned artist’s career, allowing visitors to witness the evolution of his craft. Among the notable masterpieces is “The Kiss,” Rodin’s celebrated sculpture depicting two entwined lovers.

The Rodin Museum in Philadelphia is housed in a beautiful beaux-arts building designed by French architect Paul Cret. The surrounding outdoor area is a delightful formal French garden created by landscape designer Jacques Gréber. Within this charming space, you can find eight of Rodin’s remarkable works, such as his famous sculptures “The Thinker” and “The Gates of Hell,” which played a significant role in his career. While the museum may be small, recent visitors have found it to be a worthwhile stop, especially considering that admission to the Rodin Museum is included with your ticket to the nearby Philadelphia Museum of Art, and vice versa.
