Trip ideas while visiting Philadelphia in Pennsylvania
Philadelphia is transforming unused rail lines into a 3-mile trail called the Rail Park. This project aims to connect 10 neighborhoods and provide the public with a range of locally inspired art installations and amenities for their enjoyment.
The Phase 1 of Rail Park, affectionately known as “The Cut”, is an exciting phase fully complete and has plenty to offer. As you explore, you’ll come across swings, bike racks, and even an electric platform that hosts various events. Keep an eye out for one of Philadelphia’s captivating murals, showcasing the city’s Industrial era on a story wall. Additionally, you’ll be surrounded by a diverse range of plants that are native to Pennsylvania.
To access the current version of Rail Park, you have two convenient entrances to choose from. One is located at 1300 Noble St., while the other can be found on Callowhill Street, between 11th and 12th streets.
