Skaneateles Lake

Skaneateles Lake, situated approximately 20 miles southwest of Syracuse, is known as one of the cleanest Finger Lakes. Its name, derived from the Iroquois language, means “long lake,” which accurately describes this 16-mile lake spanning three counties: Onondaga, Cayuga, and Cortland. The charming Skaneateles Village, established in the late 1700s, offers a delightful array of local shops, restaurants, inns, and bed-and-breakfasts. Boating and fishing enthusiasts particularly enjoy the crystal-clear waters of this scenic lake.
