Trip ideas while visiting Adirondacks in New York

The Wild Center (Tupper Lake)

The Wild Center is located in the Adirondacks, around 21 miles southwest of Saranac Lake. It covers an area of 81 acres and is filled with forests and abundant wildlife. The center offers a range of exhibits that highlight the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. Visitors can enjoy movies, hands-on activities, and explore a butterfly garden. However, the real highlight of this attraction is the animal encounters. These encounters provide both kids and adults with an opportunity to observe owls, otters, porcupines, skunks, as well as different reptiles and amphibians up close.

When it comes to recommendations from previous travelers, one particular attraction stands out: the tree-level nature path called Wild Walk. This outdoor adventure offers a unique experience with its four-story treehouse, swinging bridges, and comfortable spaces designed to resemble a spider web and a bald eagle’s nest. It’s important to keep in mind that Wild Walk is available for exploration only between late May and mid-October, so make sure to plan your visit accordingly.
