The Mob Museum

In the past, the darker aspects of Sin City couldn’t even be overshadowed by the bright neon lights of Vegas. However, things have changed now with the establishment of The Mob Museum. This museum aims to bring to light the influence of organized crime in Las Vegas during the 20th-century gangster era. Housed in the city’s former federal courthouse, which is situated in the downtown area a few blocks northeast of the Fremont Street Experience, this museum offers unique and interactive exhibits that uncover America’s mob history.

The Mob Museum offers an educational experience for museum-goers. It provides information about well-known gangsters like Al Capone, Bugsy Siegel, and John Gotti, as well as the efforts of law enforcement agents such as J. Edgar Hoover, Eliot Ness, and Harry Anslinger who fought against crime nationwide. Divided into four floors, the museum delves into the extensive history of organized crime in the United States and globally. Visitors can explore topics ranging from the emergence of criminal syndicates to the ongoing presence of elaborate gambling schemes.
