A place like no other near Nantucket in Massachusetts
According to some enthusiasts, the Brant Point Light in Nantucket is considered the second oldest lighthouse in the country. However, this claim isn’t entirely accurate. The current tower was built in 1901, but there has been a lighthouse at this location since 1746. Nevertheless, it continues to be a favorite destination for visitors who want to enjoy the picturesque view of Nantucket Town’s harbor.
Brant Point is currently off-limits for visitors since it serves as an operational base for the U.S. Coast Guard. However, there are plenty of sights to enjoy in the surrounding area. The beach named after Brant Point offers a stunning view where you can relax and observe the boats gracefully passing through the harbor. Visitors have also been delighted by the sight of beach plums that grow naturally near the beach entrance.
