Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum

In Boston, there is a hands-on museum that provides an entertaining experience centered around a significant moment in the city’s history. Visitors have the opportunity to participate in various activities, such as throwing (fake) tea into the water, exploring replica ships, and engaging in conversations with actors portraying individuals from the Colonial era. The museum, located on Griffin’s Wharf, is situated close to the actual site where the famous Tea Party took place on December 16, 1773.

Inside the museum, you will find a range of captivating exhibits. These include 3D holograms, talking portraits, and the Robinson Tea Chest, an authentic artifact from the Boston Tea Party. Two out of three ships involved in the event, namely the Beaver and the Eleanor, have been meticulously recreated for visitors to explore. Additionally, there is a fascinating film called “Let It Begin Here,” which vividly portrays the events leading up to the American Revolution.

If you find yourself in need of refreshments, Abigail’s Tea Room is the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of tea or a snack. This charming venue offers one of the most splendid views of the harbor in Boston.

The museum is highly praised by visitors for its interactive nature. They enjoy the engaging experience of tossing tea overboard and find it entertaining for people of all ages. Additionally, visitors appreciate the informative guides who remain in character throughout the visit.
