Lincoln Park Zoo

The Lincoln Park Zoo is situated in the charming North Side neighborhood of Lincoln Park, just 2 miles north of the Loop. This wonderful zoo is a sanctuary for almost 200 different species, including zebras, sloths, and hippos. It offers visitors the opportunity to observe these amazing creatures in their natural environments. For instance, you can visit the gorillas at the renowned Regenstein Center for African Apes, an expansive and award-winning exhibit. If you’re interested in getting closer to some marine animals, make sure to visit the Kovler Seal Pool, where you can interact with harbor seals. Don’t miss the daily seal training and feeding sessions, which take place at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Travelers who have visited the zoo recently have expressed their admiration for the well-maintained grounds and the fact that there is no entrance fee. To reach the zoo, it is advisable to utilize public transportation or take a taxi, as parking spots at the zoo are limited. Initially, the first thirty minutes of parking are free, but beyond that, daily parking rates vary from $20 to $35.
