Florida Holocaust Museum

In 1992, the Florida Holocaust Museum was established by a Jewish businessman and philanthropist who had fled Nazi Germany in 1939. Following his service in the U.S. Army during World War II, he worked together with leaders from the business and community sectors in Florida to build a memorial honoring the millions of lives lost in the Holocaust. Today, this museum stands as one of the biggest Holocaust museums in the United States.

The museum is committed to educating people from all backgrounds about the value and importance of human life, with the aim of preventing future genocides. It offers a variety of permanent and temporary exhibits. One of the notable exhibits is a railroad boxcar similar to the ones used by Nazis to transport Jewish people to death camps such as Auschwitz and Treblinka. Visitors can engage with interactive displays and have the opportunity to ask survivors questions. The core exhibit presents the history of the Holocaust and antisemitism through a collection of artifacts, photographs, and videos. Additionally, the museum regularly hosts evening events for visitors to participate in.
