Clearwater Beach

Located on a slender island along Florida’s west coast, Clearwater Beach is a short distance away from both St. Petersburg and Tampa, approximately 25 miles from each. Despite its close proximity to the mainland, this charming town offers a tranquil escape from the bustling city life you’re accustomed to. Renowned for its stunning shoreline, often recognized as one of Florida’s finest beaches, Clearwater Beach also boasts several other noteworthy attractions that are definitely worth exploring.

Clearwater Beach offers a wide range of activities to enjoy both on and off the water. Aside from the exciting water sports like paddleboarding, Jet Skiing, and parasailing, you can also explore the area’s historical theaters, parks, and shopping districts. Indulge in delicious meals at casual beachfront restaurants while taking in the beautiful beach views. A must-visit attraction is the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, home to a famous dolphin resident. And if you’re a sports enthusiast, don’t miss the chance to watch the Philadelphia Phillies play at Spectrum Field during MLB’s spring training season. Whether you prefer beach adventures or cultural experiences, Clearwater Beach has something for everyone to enjoy!

When to Visit

Clearwater Beach offers the best experience between October and December. During this time, you can enjoy pleasant weather with lower humidity and fewer tourists. Additionally, there are plenty of holiday events happening during these autumn months. It’s worth noting that although October and November fall within the Atlantic hurricane season, the chances of encountering a storm are not as high as during peak months. However, it’s always good to stay informed about any potential developments. Summer (July, August, and September) and winter (January, February, and March) may not be the ideal seasons to visit due to frequent rainstorms and a high number of snowbirds, which are retirees and part-time residents from the northern U.S. If your goal is to observe wildlife, plan your visit between April and June. This period offers great opportunities to spot migratory birds, stingrays, and sea turtles. Regardless of the season, Clearwater Beach enjoys warm weather all year round, making it a wonderful destination to explore.
