Boca Raton

Boca Raton, situated around 50 miles north of Miami, is a charming city in the Palm Beaches region. Back in the early 1900s, it was envisioned as a top-notch resort destination, thanks to the opening of Henry Flagler’s East Coast railroad, which attracted numerous tourists to Florida. Notable landmarks include the town hall, vibrant Mizner Park, and the renowned Boca Raton Resort & Club. Designed by architect Addison Mizner, this Mediterranean-style pink “castle” remains an iconic structure in the city.

Boca, the second-largest city in the Palm Beaches, is often referred to as “Boca” by the locals. This charming city stands out for its stunning parks and beaches, which offer a delightful escape. Additionally, Boca is recognized for its dedication to wildlife conservation and education, exemplified by the Gumbo Limbo Marine Center spanning 20 acres within the expansive Red Reef Park. Art enthusiasts will appreciate the presence of a prestigious art museum and theater, while fashion lovers can explore a variety of upscale designer boutiques and department stores. Moreover, Boca boasts a lively dining scene, ensuring a memorable culinary experience for visitors.

When to Visit

Boca Raton is most enjoyable to visit during the fall and winter seasons due to the pleasant temperatures. The city’s off-season falls in autumn (September to November), when accommodation prices are lowest, partly because of the Atlantic hurricane season occurring from June to November. On the other hand, the winter months (January to March) tend to be crowded with snowbirds from the northeastern U.S. and Canada, resulting in higher expenses for visitors. The shoulder season spans from mid-April to mid-August. Summers in Boca Raton are characterized by unpredictable hurricane seasons, bringing about hot, humid, and rainy weather conditions.
