The highway we’re talking about here has a special designation. It’s called an “All-American Road,” which means it’s considered remarkable by the U.S. Secretary of Transportation for its various qualities like archaeology, culture, history, nature, recreation, and scenic beauty. This road leads to Telluride through Highway 145, and it’s just a short distance of fewer than 4 miles from the town. Along this route, both drivers and passengers are treated to awe-inspiring views of the stunning San Juan Mountains.
