Bridalveil Fall

Trip ideas while visiting Yosemite National Park in California

Bridalveil Fall

Looking for a simple hike that the whole family can enjoy? Look no further than Bridalveil Fall! Situated close to Yosemite’s west entrance, this stunning waterfall might be the first one you encounter in the park. A leisurely half-mile walk will lead you to this majestic 620-foot waterfall. If you decide to visit during spring or early summer, you’ll experience the full force of the spray caused by the melting snow, which means you might even feel the mist on your face as you admire the falls. Don’t forget to check out Horsetail Fall nearby if you’re there in spring—the way the light hits the falls creates a mesmerizing “firefall phenomenon,” making it look like the waterfall is ablaze. Even in the winter, visitors are awestruck by the beauty of Bridalveil Fall.

You can visit this trail and waterfall throughout the year. The trail is made of pavement, but it may not be suitable for wheelchairs due to its steepness. When you arrive at the trailhead, you’ll find a parking lot and restrooms available. To reach the falls, follow Highway 41 from Yosemite Valley, which will take you towards Wawona and the south park exit. If you’re short on time and unable to walk to the falls, don’t worry! You can still catch a glimpse of it while driving. For additional details, please refer to the NPS website.
