Tokopah Falls

Enjoy it while visiting Sequoia National Park in California

Tokopah Falls

Tokopah Falls, standing at approximately 1,200 feet tall, holds the distinction of being Sequoia National Park’s tallest waterfall. Unlike a single, vertical drop, this majestic cascade flows in a meandering path, gracefully maneuvering around rugged rocks. As a result, there are numerous vantage points from which to appreciate the beauty of the falls.

The 4-mile trail leading to the falls is a favorite among recent travelers. Most of them found it to be an easy and flat hike, suitable even for small kids and beginners. The picturesque waterfall with its dark gray rocks and tall trees reminded some visitors of scenes from fantasy movies. To their delight, restrooms and water stations were conveniently available at the start of the hike. However, a few individuals mentioned that the water flow in the waterfall tends to be lighter during the fall months. It is said to be strongest in spring and early summer when the snow from winter starts melting.
