Grant Grove Village, situated in close proximity to Kings Canyon National Park, is a delightful destination offering various amenities for visitors. Dubbed the “Nation’s Christmas Tree” by President Calvin Coolidge, the colossal tree is known as Ulysses S. Grant and holds the rank of the second-largest sequoia globally (with General Sherman taking the lead) and the third-largest tree overall. Reaching a staggering height of around 270 feet, this magnificent tree boasts a trunk circumference measuring an impressive 107 feet. Its trunk weighs an estimated 565 tons and its age is believed to range between 3,000 and 4,000 years.
