Annenberg Community Beach House

Enjoy it while visiting Santa Monica in California

Annenberg Community Beach House

During the vibrant Gold Coast era of the 1920s, the foundation for the Annenberg Community Beach House was laid. This beautiful beachfront property spanned across 5 acres and boasted a magnificent 100-room mansion. It was envisioned and built by William Randolph Hearst as a residence for the renowned actress Marion Davies. While the grand mansion was unfortunately demolished in 1956, certain remnants of its splendor endure even now. The guest house and pool have managed to stand the test of time, preserving fragments of the original site’s allure.

At Santa Monica State Beach, you can enjoy a wide range of amenities at this public facility. Feel free to explore the inviting courtyard equipped with tables, chairs, and umbrellas, where you can relax and soak up the sun. For some fun in the water, there’s a splash pad for kids to frolic around. Additionally, there’s a viewing deck that offers a scenic vantage point to admire the beach. If you’re looking for some active playtime, there’s a playground, beach volleyball courts, and beach soccer courts available. You can also engage in various activities by enrolling in paid classes like yoga or renting standup paddleboards. And if you fancy a swim, there’s a pool where you can take a refreshing dip.
