When you visit the famous Battleship USS Iowa Museum, you’ll have the chance to explore both the inside and outside areas across seven decks. Take a self-guided tour and experience what life was like on the ship. You’ll get to see various interesting places such as the officer’s wardroom, senior officer’s cabins, admirals bridge, navigation bridge, and crew’s quarters. As you walk through the museum, you’ll come across multiple exhibits that showcase the fascinating history of the Battleship USS Iowa and the U.S. Navy. These exhibits include artifacts, photographs, artwork, and equipment. For an even more interactive experience, kids can join the “Vicky the Dog” scavenger hunt, where they can discover more about the ship from the perspective of its beloved canine mascot.

The General Access pass allows you to explore the ship for a duration of two hours. It costs $25.95 for adults, $17.95 for children aged 3 to 11, and is free of charge for kids who are 2 years old or younger. If you’re interested, you can choose to upgrade your experience by opting for a themed guided tour, such as the Gun Tour or Engineering Tour. Many previous visitors have shared that these guided tours are worth the extra cost. Overall, people have enjoyed their visits to the ship. While you’re there, make sure to take in the beautiful waterfront views, grab a snack at Vicky’s Doghouse Café, and don’t forget to pick up a souvenir from the Ship’s Store. The ship welcomes visitors every day, starting at 10 a.m. and closing at around 4 p.m., or when the final guided tour concludes. Convenient parking is available, and the first hour is free. After that, it costs $2 for each additional hour, with a maximum daily fee of $20.
