Palisades Tahoe

Enjoy it while visiting Lake Tahoe in California

Palisades Tahoe

Palisades Tahoe is a renowned ski resort that includes both Olympic Valley and Alpine Meadows. It boasts an impressive terrain spanning nearly 6,000 acres and is equipped with an advanced lift system. The resort receives over 400 inches of snowfall each year, allowing for one of the longest ski and snowboard seasons in Lake Tahoe. Its excellence in skiing and snowboarding is evident from its selection as the host for the 1960 Winter Olympics. In 2020, the resort underwent a name change from Squaw Valley to Palisades Tahoe to discontinue the use of the derogatory term “squaw,” which was offensive towards Indigenous women.

Palisades Tahoe isn’t just known for its amazing powder. There are plenty of other things to enjoy here too! If you’re with your family, you can go snow-tubing at the SnoVentures Activity Zone in Olympic Valley’s base area. For those interested in Olympic history, the Olympic Museum is a great place to visit. When it comes to dining, the Village at Palisades Tahoe has a wide range of options to choose from. And if you happen to be in Lake Tahoe during the summer, you can have a great time playing golf on the resort’s championship course, testing your skills on the ropes course, or exploring The Tram Face, an iconic rock formation in Olympic Valley. There’s no shortage of activities for everyone to enjoy!
