1,000 Steps Beach

Trip ideas while visiting Laguna Beach in California

1,000 Steps Beach

For those who prefer peaceful beaches rather than crowded ones, 1,000 Steps Beach is the perfect destination. This beach is found in South Laguna, a little over 4 miles south of the town center. Unlike typical beach entrances where you can park your car and easily access the sand, reaching 1,000 Steps Beach requires some perseverance. Situated in a residential neighborhood, visitors need to descend more than 200 steps to reach the beach. However, the breathtaking scenery makes the extra effort worthwhile. On one side of the beach, you’ll be greeted by rugged, lush cliffs that support the luxurious million-dollar homes in this affluent community. As you relax on this heavenly spot, you’ll have the chance to admire California palm trees up close and personal.

The beach in Southern California offers more than just beautiful scenery. It provides amenities like restrooms and allows you to explore tide pools and sea caves during low tide. Interestingly, one of these sea caves leads to another beach called Totuava Beach, which is a hidden cove with its own sea cave entrance from Table Rock Beach. However, it’s crucial to be cautious of the tides when venturing there. Failing to do so could result in being trapped on the beach or encountering injuries or even drowning while attempting to leave.
