Skull Rock

A place like no other near Joshua Tree National Park in California

Skull Rock

Skull Rock is a famous sight to see while driving through the park. True to its name, it bears a striking resemblance to a human skull. The National Park Service explains that this unique granite rock formation was shaped by the gradual erosion caused by water over many years.

Skull Rock is an unusual landmark located along Park Boulevard. Recent visitors have described it as easy to climb, making it convenient to take a quick photo. However, aside from this activity, there isn’t much else to do at Skull Rock. You can find parking spots located just across the road from the rock. For additional information about this unique landmark, you can visit the NPS website.
