A place like no other near Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming
Explore the incredible beauty of Grand Teton National Park on a thrilling bike tour. With numerous designated biking areas, you can enjoy the breathtaking scenery while getting some exercise. An excellent route is the 20-mile multiuse pathway that begins in Jackson and stretches north to Antelope Flats Road and Moose Junction. From there, the path follows Teton Park Road towards the South Jenny Lake area.
During your ride, you’ll come across several picnic spots along with attractions like the Taggart Lake trailhead and the scenic Teton Glacier Turnout area. The multiuse pathway within the park is accessible from April to November. To enter the park by bike, there is a fee of $20, which covers a seven-day entrance pass.
If you don’t have a bike, don’t worry! There are rental options available in downtown Jackson, such as Wheel Wranglers or Hoback Sports. Prices for bike rentals vary depending on the type of bike and the rental shop, but you can expect to pay around $50 per day for a standard bike.
Cyclists are welcome to ride on all the paved roads in the park. However, it’s important to remember that bikes are not allowed in the backcountry areas of the park to avoid disturbing the wildlife. Don’t worry if you’re looking for mountain biking opportunities, as you can explore the trails in the neighboring Bridger-Teton National Forest, which spans an impressive 3.4 million acres and is located next to Grand Teton. There are a few popular biking trails to choose from, such as the 10-mile Horsetail Creek route and the nearly 6-mile Ditch Creek Trail in the Shadow Mountain area. The best part is that accessing the national forest is free! If you want more details about biking within the national park, you can visit the NPS website for additional information.
