It is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, ensuring that strict animal welfare standards are met every year. Please note that the aquarium does not house dolphins, whales, or manatees, as mandated by the Marine Resources Act of 2000, which prohibits the display of marine mammals in South and North Carolina.
