U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum

The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum first opened its doors in 2020. This advanced facility spans an impressive 60,000 square feet and comprises 12 distinct galleries along with numerous interactive displays. These exhibits provide a comprehensive account of the history of the Olympics and Paralympics, highlighting the incredible athleticism required to compete on the global stage and sharing inspiring stories of athletes. What sets this museum apart is its inclusivity. Upon arrival, all visitors embark on their museum journey from the third floor using an elevator, then navigate through the galleries via a spiral ramped pathway. To ensure accessibility for everyone, personalized services are available for each exhibit, such as audio descriptions and closed captioning on videos. Additionally, sensory bags containing noise-canceling headphones and fidget toys can be obtained by those who may benefit from them.

Visitors to the museum are impressed by the extensive collection of Olympic artifacts and memorabilia. Many find the simulated exhibits particularly enjoyable, such as racing against track star Jesse Owens or experiencing a thrilling ride on a skeleton down an icy course. However, some people expressed their disappointment at the absence of free parking. Metered spots and a paid parking lot can be found in close proximity to the museum.
